Effective September 24, 2026. This notice explains what MathVista saves during the diagnostic, why it is needed, and the controls available to families.
Who operates this service
MathVista is a private testing preview. The responsible operator and public privacy contact have not yet been finalized. Test participants should contact the person who invited them. Public registration is not open.
Who the experience is for
A parent or responsible adult starts the diagnostic and confirms the child may use it. The child then answers math questions without creating a child account.
Information the diagnostic saves
MathVista saves the selected grade, answers or skips, response timing, assessment progress, and the curriculum, item-bank, and engine versions needed to reproduce the report. An essential HTTP-only browser cookie links this browser to its saved assessments.
Information we do not ask a child to provide
The diagnostic does not ask for a child's full name, email address, birth date, school, postal address, location, photo, voice recording, or free-text response. Read-aloud uses the browser's speech-synthesis feature; MathVista does not request microphone access for it.
How the information is used
Saved information is used to choose the next diagnostic question, preserve progress, create the family report, troubleshoot the service, and protect the service from misuse. MathVista does not use assessment responses for advertising or behavioural ad targeting.
Cookies, hosting, and service providers
The essential ownership cookie is required to reopen saved assessments on the same browser. Hosting, database, and infrastructure providers may process technical request information such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and security logs as needed to operate and secure the service. MathVista does not add third-party advertising trackers to the child assessment flow.
Report privacy and sharing
The live report remains browser-session protected: knowing a live report URL alone does not grant access. A parent can intentionally download a one-page PDF report. That PDF is portable and can be shared with a spouse, teacher, tutor, or another person the parent chooses. Anyone who receives the PDF can read it, so share it thoughtfully.
Retention and deletion
Saved assessments are available from the originating browser for up to 7 days. After that access window, expired records are no longer available through the family experience and are eligible for service cleanup. A parent can permanently delete this browser's saved assessment records sooner from My overview. Deleting browser cookies alone may remove access without deleting the stored record, so use the in-product deletion control when you want the stored assessment removed.
Security
MathVista uses access controls and an HTTP-only, same-site ownership cookie to reduce accidental disclosure. No internet service can promise absolute security, so the service intentionally minimizes the personal information it requests.
Children's privacy
MathVista is designed for parent-led use and data minimization. The adult confirmation, limited data collection, no child account, no advertising profile, and deletion controls are deliberate safeguards. This notice describes the current service; it does not replace any additional notices, consent, or legal obligations that may apply when the service is offered in a particular way or jurisdiction.
Changes to this notice
If the service begins collecting materially different information, adds accounts, payments, analytics, or new sharing practices, this notice will be updated before those practices are introduced. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
Your choices
You may choose not to start an assessment, stop at any time, delete saved assessments from My overview, or keep the downloaded PDF private. See the Terms of Service for the rules governing use of MathVista.
